The Ipswich Junior Rugby League is situated on Brisbane’s western fringe, and is one third of the new South East Queensland Division of the Queensland Rugby League.

Ipswich is a traditional home to Rugby League in Queensland and boasts many former greats of the game. Our name – Ipswich Junior Diggers – & Logo pay tribute to the Ipswich region’s proud history as a coal mining centre.

Ipswich Juniors currently consists of 13 clubs. Our 8 city based clubs boast a great mix of new clubs as Brisbane’s population moves west, & the old traditional clubs (Springfield, Redbank Plains, Karalee, Swifts, Goodna, West End, Northern Suburbs, & Brothers). The remaining five clubs are based in rural communities, Brisbane Valley in Esk, Lowood – Tarampa, Laidley, Rosewood, & Fassifern in Harrisville.

Ipswich Junior players have a tremendous opportunity to earn representative honours.

Our Under 11 & 12 Development sides tour to Maitland in N.S.W. each Easter, and a return tour is held in July.

Our Under 13, 14 and 15 Development sides tour to Sydney in N.S.W. at Easter, and a return tour is held in September.

Our Under 13, 14, & 16 sides play the Gold Coast to earn positions in the South East Queensland Kookaburra Division teams which in turn contest the State Titles.
