New Zealand’s rugby league side clearly enjoyed their training session at Liverpool’s Melwood training ground this week, saying thank you with an impromptu haka in the canteen.

Saturday’s sold-out decider brings a lot of pressure on New Zealand, who are looking to claim the Baskerville Sheild from the Lions for the first time in the trophy’s short history just weeks after the All Blacks rugby union side won the World Cup on English soil.

But what better way to loosen up and prepare than a little light relief, frightening the living daylights out of kindly Liverpool FC staff?

Completely unfounded rumours are circling that Liverpool Fc’s resident ‘big man’ Martin Skrtel is just out of shot in the above video recording, whimpering with his eyes screwed shut.

Jurgen Klopp will undoubtedly have been looking for any training techniques he could carry over from rugby to football, with his Liverpool side hosting Manchester United next weekend after the international break.

The Reds’ squad lacks strength in depth, exposed by an ongoing injury crisis among the club’s strikers – so let’s hope that the Liverpool players didn’t get over-excited and join in training with the rugby league boys at any point.
